Braille asset generator

Type text, verify the braille, and export it as a 3D-printable STL tile, a physically-accurate SVG for laser cutting or swell paper, an embosser-ready BRF file, or plain Unicode braille. Translation runs liblouis in your browser — nothing you type leaves this page.

Each line becomes its own braille line. The preview below updates as you type.

Waiting for the braille engine…

Each row below contains the translated braille as real text — refreshable braille displays read it exactly as it will be printed. The dot graphics are decorative duplicates for sighted proofing.

Translation

Braille embosser pages are typically 40 cells or fewer.

Braille dimensions

FDM prints land slightly under the designed height.

Distance between dot centres inside a cell.

Distance between the same dot in adjacent cells.

Line-to-line distance. 8-dot braille automatically adds one dot pitch.

0 exports raised dots only (for gluing onto an object).

3D print (STL) options

1 = millimetre-true. Most slicers expect 1.

SVG options

The SVG uses real millimetre units — Inkscape, LightBurn and Illustrator import it at true scale. Dots are geometry, never a font.
